Summary
Dear Friends,
This Sunday we will join with nine other synagogues nationally to hear Bari Weiss talk about ‘Cancel Culture through a Jewish Lens’.
Bari Weiss is perhaps the leading lecturer in our American Jewish communities.
She headlined the Conservative movement’s biennial conference in 2019 that I attended and has spoken (and headlined) at countless federations, conferences, and synagogues.
After the Pittsburgh attacks, she became one of the most sought after voices nationally on anti-Semitism and published a book in 2019 on ‘How to Fight Anti-Semitism’.
Since quitting the New York Times last summer where she was an op-ed writer, with a very public rebuke of the paper’s editorial team for creating a culture where “truth isn’t a process of collective discovery, but an orthodoxy already known to an enlightened few whose job is to inform everyone else”, she has been a prominent critic of cancel culture.
